1. Purpose and relationship to other policies.
This Refund Policy describes how returns, refunds, and exchanges are handled for purchases made through this website. It should be read with the Shipping Policy, which describes processing and delivery, with the Terms of Purchase, which describes the formation of the contract, and with the Privacy Policy, which describes how information provided in connection with a return is handled. Where this policy refers to “delivery,” it means the date on which the carrier’s tracking record shows the parcel was delivered to the address you provided, or the date on which the parcel was delivered to a collection point designated by the carrier.
The rights described here are contractual rights offered by us. They are in addition to, and do not replace, any rights you have under applicable consumer protection law. If a statutory right provides a longer period or a more favorable condition than this policy, the statutory right controls to the extent of the conflict.
2. The 60-day return window.
You may request a return within sixty calendar days after delivery. The sixty-day period begins on the delivery date shown in the carrier’s tracking record. If the tracking record does not show a delivery date, the period begins on the date the carrier marks the parcel as delivered or, where no delivery confirmation is available, on a date reasonably determined from the shipment record.
A return request made after the sixty-day period may be declined unless applicable law requires otherwise or unless we choose, in a specific instance, to accept it as a courtesy. A courtesy acceptance in one instance does not modify the sixty-day window for future orders and does not create a binding practice.
The sixty-day window is measured from delivery, not from the order date. This distinction matters because processing and transit occur before delivery; a customer who orders early and receives later is not disadvantaged by the time spent in transit. For a magnetic sensory product, the window is long enough to use the set in the contexts it was designed for — the desk, the commute, the evening — and decide whether the tactile feedback is right for your hand.
3. Condition requirements for return eligibility.
Because the products sold on this website are sets of small, high-powered magnets, the condition standard reflects both resale requirements and safety considerations. To be eligible for a return, the item must meet the following requirements:
(a) Completeness. The set must be returned with its full piece count. A magnetic set is sold as a quantified whole; a set that is missing pieces cannot be verified as complete for another customer and may present a safety concern if the missing pieces remain unaccounted for. The piece count is verified at processing and is stated on the product page. If a set is returned short of its stated count, we will contact you with the count discrepancy and may decline the return or offer a partial refund that reflects the incomplete set.
(b) Container and packaging. The set should be returned in its original container or a container that provides equivalent protection, with any included accessories (such as a building base or splitter card, where applicable) included. A set returned loose in an envelope or a soft mailer may arrive with coating damage or may cause handling issues in transit; such a return may be declined if the condition cannot be verified.
(c) Condition of the magnets. The magnets must not show signs of misuse beyond reasonable handling. A cracked or chipped coating, a deformed sphere, or corrosion is a condition failure because it may produce a sharp edge or a handling hazard. Normal handling may produce minor surface wear on a coated magnet over time; that is not a condition failure. The distinction is between cosmetic wear and a physical compromise of the coating or the magnet body.
(d) No mixing or substitution. The set must contain the magnets supplied with that set and must not be mixed with magnets from another source. Magnetic sets can appear visually similar while differing in coating, size, or strength; a mixed set cannot be verified against the original specification and may be declined.
If an item does not meet the condition requirements, we will contact you with the reason and may offer a partial refund or a return of the item at your cost, depending on the circumstances. We will not treat a minor cosmetic imperfection on the outer packaging as a condition failure where the container is intact and the set is complete.
4. Items that are not eligible for return.
The following categories are not eligible for a standard change-of-mind return unless they arrived damaged, defective, or materially different from what was described:
(a) Sets that are incomplete, mixed, or missing the container or included accessories, for the reasons described in Section 3.
(b) Sets with a cracked, chipped, or compromised magnet coating, where the compromise is attributable to handling after delivery rather than transit or manufacturing.
(c) Products marked as final sale at the time of purchase, where the final-sale designation was disclosed before checkout. A final-sale designation does not remove rights that applicable consumer law grants for defective goods or goods that do not conform to the description.
(d) Products that have been personalized, relabeled, or customized at your request.
(e) Gift cards or store credit instruments, where applicable.
An item that is not eligible for a standard return may still be eligible for a damaged-or-defective claim if the reason for the claim is a defect present at delivery, transit damage, or a material difference from the product description. A change of mind about the tactile feedback or the suitability of the set for your hand is handled under the standard return conditions, not as a defect.
5. How to initiate a return.
To initiate a return, contact us through the Contact page on this website before sending anything back. Include the order information and a brief description of the reason for the return. State whether the set is complete and whether the container and accessories are included. We will respond with return instructions, including the return destination and any labeling or packaging requirements.
Do not send a return to the address on the original shipping label unless the return instructions expressly direct you to do so. The shipping origin and the return destination may differ. Items sent back without a return authorization may experience delays in processing or may be declined if they cannot be matched to an authorized return. For safety reasons, a return that contains a magnet with a compromised coating should be packaged so that the damaged piece cannot escape the container; contact us first if the condition raises a handling concern.
6. Return shipping costs.
Return shipping is at your cost unless the return is due to a defect, transit damage, or an error on our part, such as shipping the wrong set. Where the return is due to a defect, damage, or our error, we will provide the return instructions and cover the reasonable return shipping cost. Where the return is a change of mind, you are responsible for the return shipping cost, and the original free shipping provided on the order is not refundable as a separate amount because it was not charged to you.
This allocation of return shipping cost does not affect any statutory right that requires a seller to bear return costs in specified circumstances. If applicable law requires us to bear the cost in a situation not described here, that law controls. For international returns, any duties or taxes that were covered by us on the original shipment are not recoverable by you and are not added to the refund; the refund is based on the merchandise amount and the return shipping cost allocation described here.
7. Refund processing time and method.
After an authorized return is received and inspected, we will notify you of the approval decision. If the return is approved, the refund is processed to the original payment method within five to ten business days after the approval decision. “Business days” means Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays observed in the United States.
The five-to-ten-business-day period is the period during which we initiate and complete the refund on our side. Your bank, card issuer, or payment provider may require additional time to post the refund to your account after it is initiated. That additional posting time is outside our control and is not counted in the five-to-ten-business-day period. A refund is considered completed on our side when the credit is transmitted to the payment processor, not when it appears on your statement.
Refunds are issued in USD to the original payment method. We do not issue refunds to a different card, a different account, or a different currency unless the original payment method is unavailable and applicable law or the payment processor’s rules permit an alternative. If the original payment method is no longer valid, contact us through the Contact page to arrange an alternative that complies with the processor’s requirements. Shipping charges are not refunded on a change-of-mind return because shipping was provided free of charge. On a defective, damaged, or error-related return, the refund covers the merchandise amount and, where applicable, the reasonable return shipping cost we agreed to cover.
8. Exchanges.
An exchange is handled as a return of the original item followed by a new order for the replacement item, unless a direct exchange is expressly offered at the time of the request. This structure ensures that the return and the new purchase are each documented separately. If a direct exchange is offered, the replacement item is shipped after the original item is received and inspected, and the same completeness and condition requirements apply. Price differences between the original item and the replacement item are handled as an additional charge or a partial refund, as applicable.
For a magnetic set, an exchange based on a finish difference — moving from a matte finish to a metallic finish, for example — is treated as a new order subject to the price and availability in effect at the time of the exchange request. The original order’s discount does not automatically carry over to the replacement order unless a direct exchange is expressly offered with that term.
9. Damaged or defective items.
An item that arrives damaged or defective is not subject to the change-of-mind completeness requirement to the same extent, because the defect or damage may itself involve missing or compromised pieces. Report the issue through the Contact page as soon as practicable after delivery, with photographs of the container, the set, and any compromised magnet coating. We will evaluate the report and, where the damage or defect is attributable to transit, fulfillment, or manufacturing, arrange a replacement or a full refund of the merchandise amount, including the return shipping cost where we request the item back.
A defect that appears after reasonable use may still be eligible if it is a material failure of the product’s described performance rather than normal wear. For magnetic products, “defect” does not mean “I did not enjoy the tactile feedback” or “I expected a different strength.” Those are fit and preference questions, handled under the standard return conditions. A defect claim must be based on a compromised coating, a malformed sphere, a piece-count discrepancy present at delivery, a container failure, or a failure of the product to match the disclosed material specification.
10. Late or missing refunds.
If a refund has been approved and the five-to-ten-business-day period has passed without the credit appearing, first check with your bank or card issuer, because posting delays are common. If the credit still does not appear, contact us through the Contact page with the order information and the approval notice. We will confirm the transmission record on our side and, where necessary, provide documentation that you can share with your payment provider. Do not open a payment dispute before contacting us, because a dispute can suspend the refund process while the processor investigates; contacting us first usually resolves the issue faster.
11. Refused deliveries and returns to sender.
A parcel refused at delivery without a valid damage, defect, or shipping-error reason is treated as a change-of-mind return after it is returned to us. The refund is processed under the standard change-of-mind terms, and the reshipping cost, if you request reshipment, is your responsibility. A parcel refused because of visible damage should be documented at the point of refusal if the carrier permits; this documentation supports a damage claim and avoids the change-of-mind treatment. A parcel returned to sender because a destination restricts the import of high-powered magnets is handled under the Shipping Policy’s destination-restriction provision and this policy’s undeliverable-order provision, not as a change-of-mind return.
12. Contact for return and refund questions.
All return requests, completeness questions, damaged-item reports, and refund status inquiries are handled through the Contact page on this website. Include the order information and a clear description so that the request can be routed correctly. This policy is intended to be applied reasonably; a technical failure to follow a formatting requirement will not defeat a valid claim where the substance of the request is clear.
